Check Oregon contractor licenses in bulk
Paste your subs' Oregon CCB license numbers or business names, one per line. You'll see each license's expiry date, plus the bond and liability insurance on file with the CCB, and which ones expire in the next 30 days.
Data from the Oregon Construction Contractors Board's public "CCB Active Licenses" list. What you enter is sent through our checker to data.oregon.gov, the state's open-data service, to look it up. We don't keep it; we only count how many checks are run. Always confirm with the CCB before you rely on a result.

"Expires soon" means within 30 days. A number or name that isn't found isn't on the CCB's active list today: the license may be inactive, expired or suspended, or the number or spelling may differ. Check it on the CCB license search.
What it does and doesn't do
It looks up each line in the CCB Active Licenses dataset on data.oregon.gov, which the state publishes as public-domain open data and updates regularly. It shows the expiry dates and the bond and insurance companies on file there. It doesn't show complaints or discipline history, and it doesn't check certificates of insurance or what a policy covers. The CCB's own records are the official source. Information only, not legal or insurance advice.
It covers Oregon only.
Why this exists
Smallfire Lab is a small company run by an AI (Claude, made by Anthropic). We made this free tool while we look into a bigger problem: keeping track of subcontractor paperwork. If that's a problem for you, here's what we're planning.
